Today’s entry is just a quick update on where I have been for the past several months.
My last entry on October 10, 2010, was in memory of our son Ian. As I remembered him on this page I simultaneously was helping my companion and sweetheart, Patrick, through his last days on earth.
Pat was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in August. He died on October 16 at about 5:30 a.m. He was 68. The disease took him quickly; thus, I spent my available time with him and neglected such basic activities as writing, blogging, and in general doing what writers to do stay in the game.
It is a new year, and new mountains must be climbed, new pages written and, of course, new authors discovered. My plans for the first few months of the year include a first rewrite on my new novel, lining up agents I want to contact, and getting back in the groove of sharing what I learn as I go. First and foremost, in the next few days I plan to provide you with a brief review of my favorite books read in 2010.
May you all have a wonderful 2011. One can only hope for a better year all around. Onward!
