An Unholy Alliance now is available in two new outlets in Yamhill County. Wine Country Farm and Red Ridge Farms both carry the book. They are located on Breyman Orchard Road near Dayton. If you should drive up that road you’ll have a good idea of the approximate setting for the book.
Joan Davenport’s Wine Country Farm is a B&B and producing farm with horses, a vineyard and winery, and plenty of space for relaxing. The view is breathtaking, Joan is a wonderful character. I have recommended the location for a couple of friends’ weddings.
Penny Durant is the force behind Red Ridge Farms. The Durant family planted vineyards in Yamhill County eons ago, and for years have provided premium wine grapes to a number of Oregon’s best wineries. Some time after Penny started the herb farm/nursery and gift shop on the hill, the Durants planted olives. They now raise 15 acres of olives and offer their own olive oils, aged balsamic vinegars and wines at the gift shop. There is lodging above the gift shop–a single, luxurious suite with sweeping valley views.
You’ll want to visit both links (at right) to get a better idea of what wonderful treats await you when you visit these special Yamhill County sites and meet the people behind them.
I also restocked a couple outlets, picked up a box of Oregon peaches at Evergreen’s tasting room, saw some old friends, and had a great time in the country. Now it’s back to work at the computer. Anon!
